From Park to Potter’s Field...to Park: Cycles of Memory in the Landscape

This project presents a landscape that combines symbolic elements to create a meaningful space. Meticulously designed mowing patterns traverse the area, symbolizing the changing nature of collective memories across generations. The headstones, made from the ashes of the deceased, serve as significant markers of their lives. Over time, as memories fade, these headstones are removed and replaced by new trees, symbolizing the cyclical nature of life. The integration of nature showcases the beauty of life's rhythm, while providing visitors with a serene environment for contemplation on the interconnectedness of generations and the lasting impact of those who came before us.
