Nestled within an existing slope, surrounded by the bustling urban conditions of the blue collar steel city of Pittsburgh, PA, a site becomes a place of refuge, meditation, and play. The laundromat sits directly against the sidewalk, creating a welcoming urban gesture while the un-programmed field beyond promotes a variety of activities. A place that lacks green space now has a play ground.
